Spring Meeting 18.04.2026
The annual Spring meeting was held in Bridge of Allan. Everything was ready for an enjoyable day.......tables/chairs put in place.....afternoon refreshments and raffle were very ably organised by Drymen SWI and Greenhills SWI .....thank you ladies Competitions were placed for Shona Stewart of Blackford SWI to judge. Baking: Dundee Cake and Preserves: Jar of marmalade were the two competitions. THANK YOU Shona for being our judge for the day - lovely to meet you

The meeting opened with a warm welcome by Elizabeth (President) to all.....she went over the business assisted by Margaret (Secretary)
The meeting was then handed over to Karl Macrae - He’s Sew Happy........What a great afternoons entertainment. During his presentation he treated us to three tunes on his fiddle - a tune from Shetland, Calums Road and the Mingulay Boat Song Karl told us his story - growing up in Golspie before moving to Aberdeen to study. Karl was very open about the ups and downs he has had over the years - not always easy.....thank you for sharing your story Karl is passionate about his work and it came across as we followed his journey from qualifying as a music teacher....... a short time in a bank to now being an embroidery artist......& so much more He finished off our afternoon by playing the 'Rural Song' to the tune of Westering Home.
A very good meeting and all thanks must go to our two at the helm...Elizabeth & Margaret.........thank you for all the work that you both do behind the scenes.
